Despite one’s best efforts and research, surgery doesn’t always go as planned. Sometimes the surgical results can be disappointing to the client. Additionally, aging, pregnancy, weight loss or genetic events may cause unexpected changes in one’s anatomy. Our Beverly Hills breast revision surgery is the process of correcting complications and abnormalities associated with breast implants, restoring the patient to a content and harmonious state.
Sometimes a woman may desire to either increase or decrease the size of her implants, based on personal tastes or on what is popular in the media. In this case, Dr. Lee will perform an implant exchange, swapping out the old implants for an improved version.
In this case, the patient may no longer desire to have implants at all and would like them completely removed. Dr. Lee can restore the chest to its original proportions, hiding any scars and creating a seamless, beautiful outcome.
Ruptured or deflated implant
Although it is rare, sometimes implants do rupture or deflate, compromising the appearance of the chest with breast asymmetry. Revision surgery can remove the implant and replace it, taking care to preserve breasts symmetry.
Capsular contracture is one of the most common complications in breast augmentation. It happens when the scar tissue in the pocket starts to harden and cause discomfort as well as a less than ideal appearance to the breasts. Dr. Lee will tailor her approach based on the severity of the condition.
If the pocket size is not perfectly fitted to the implant, the implants may begin to shift and migrate – inwards, outwards, downwards or upwards. Any of these changes can be disastrous for the breasts’ appearance and should be immediately corrected through revision surgery.
